Why do so many young people try to be Guido's nowdays?

You know these Italian punk kids who think its cool to be a GUIDO. The same type of people that are on Jersey Shore. I find it sick and disturbing to be honest. Why the hell would they want to be a GUIDO? I don't understand this at all.
